Worship Ministries at First United brings together a large group of diverse people with varying giftedness. From set building to soloist to drummer, each person contributes his or her unique gift to the ministry. This ministry is constantly growing and changing. Our Chancel Choir sings primarily in traditional worship at 11 am on Sundays and provides worship leadership from a wide variety of choral literature. The choir also provides seasonal music. There are no audition requirements; we only ask that participants have a love for singing and a love for God. Rehearsals are held Wednesdays from 7-8:30 pm. Worship Teams honor God by using their time and talents to lead others in worship. The Band is the instrumental backbone of our contemporary worship–some are trained and some are untrained musicians. The Vocal Team consists of gifted singers who lead the congregation. Our band and vocal team members commit to being part of a Worship Team that leads worship on Sundays at 9. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm.

Communion Stewards prepare the elements for services that include communion, which is usually on the first weekend of the month.

The Visual Arts Design Team is responsible for decorating the sanctuary and altar table for seasonal events and special sermon series. This team needs people who are creative designers.

Texperts, short for ‘Technical Experts’, are folks who make things happen behind the scenes during worship, providing audio/video support (lights, sound board, camera operation, screen projection, etc.). Training is provided and volunteers work on a rotating schedule.

The Drama Team consists of actors, directors, writers and set builders--all used to present a ‘slice of life’ to the congregation during specified worship services.
